Photo Shoot: Tables Two & Three

Table two was fun and fanciful - perfect for a relaxed, outdoor wedding. We chose a pastel color palatte to go with the feeling of spring and our beautiful venue. Enjoy!

Our formal table in all white came together beautifully and I loved the way the mirror reflected the sparkle of candlelight and crystal. The subtle, amber lighting added essential drama which increased as the sun set.

2nd Tablescape Photo Shoot Wrapped Up!

So we just completed our second tablescape photo shoot at an absolutely charming venue in center city. I’m sooo excited to see the photos but I have to wait for final editing (which is the hard part) before I can share them. I know it will be worth the wait because the team of professionals working with us were super talented! The Morris House Hotel, Brown Betty Dessert Boutique, Jill Leach, manager of Priscilla of Boston Bridal Salon, Chef Laurent Leveque from Fleur de Lys Catering, Tiffany Stout, Makeup Artist, Irene Silver from Party Rental Ltd and our lovely model Rachel Johnston joined our ranks this time round and the results were spectacular!

Here are some iphone shots taken by Stacey during setup. They give a tiny glimpse of what goes into a shoot like this and I thought they were fun!

Manzanita & Place Cards

The final table from our February photoshoot was a flirty placecard table in bright apricots and greens. Lime colored wire twirled and twisted nearby spheres and single blooms hanging from manzanita branches. I had fun with this one and tried to imagine the snow outside melting into springtime blossoms….umm…it didn’t exactly work but I still enjoyed the shoot. :)

Playful Place Card Table

Here’s a small place card table we did using milk glass vases in different shapes and sizes, plus white opal votives. I was inspired by Artfool, a floral designer I love in NYC, who uses lots of beautiful alternative florals, greens and fillers, and of course I’m all about being different and original. I like to watch what’s happening in the big apple and translate whatever catches my eye into Philly terms whenever possible. The photo shoot has given me an opportunity to play a little, so that’s exactly what I intend to do!

Hot Pink Table for Two

I’m so excited to post more pictures from our photoshoot last month! This table was minimal with very little floral accompaniment, but this simple approach worked beautifully and complemented the clean, Asian feel. I also loved how vibrant the fuschia was against the stark white, especially in the middle of February when snow was still piled everywhere downtown!

Once again, Onada Photography, Country Meadows Florist, VU Events, Select Event Rental and Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse all made the shoot possible!

Mardi Gras in the Snow!

Kim and Dennis dreamed of an intimate, center city wedding that celebrated their love and incorporated Dennis’ New Orleans roots. They wanted to have their own Mardi Gras right here in Philly with their closest family and friends. Who would have imagined the worst snowstorm in over 10 years would hit on their wedding day!

Despite the undesirable weather the couple braved the elements and held their ceremony, followed by a beautiful reception on the Penthouse level of Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse downtown. As they walked down the aisle as husband and wife the skies were clearing and making way for the most amazing sunset I’ve seen in a very long time - it was positively breathtaking!

We stayed at the Sofitel from the night before the wedding, so the next morning we only had to walk across the street for set up at Davio’s. How cool is that!

Once again I’m indebted to John Rozier for his amazing photography - more to come!

Tablescape Preview

Last weekend we completed our very first tablescape photo shoot! I’ve had this idea for a while, to provide beautiful, unique tablescapes on the website so clients can hopefully be inspired, and then get an actual taste of what we love to do. I say “we” because it takes more than one person to design and then create an event that’s truly original, inspired and unforgettable; it takes a team of professionals whom I’ve come to work with and trust.

We all set out early Saturday morning, following one of the worst snow storms in history, to capture a few images that will move couples and provide another creative option. I think it was well worth our combined efforts and I’m already planning the next shoot in spring!

We couldn’t have done this without the wonderful talents of Mojibola of Onada Photography, Vic of VU Events, Hilary of Country Meadows Florist, Cindy from Select Event Rentals, of course Stacey and, at the last minute, Anya, my daughter. Special thanks also to Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse who graciously allowed us to shoot in their main dining room in the morning, just before the Valentine’s weekend dinner rush!

Enjoy!

Katie & Jake’s Enchanted Forest

Last month I had the privilege of helping my friend Katie (who absolutely loves “Lord of the Rings”) with her wedding. I didn’t do the regular planning thing, I just handled the florals which had the feel of an enchanted forest. Now a florist I am definitly not, but it was really fun to put woodsy arrangements together using lots of moss, stones, mushrooms and roses. My wonderful florist, Hilary, did the bride’s bouquet, the bridesmaids’ “purses” and the boutonnières, but my team of 3 did everything else. Thank you Stacey and Heidi!

Thank you Arun Paul Photography for these awesome shots! Hopefully I’ll post some more soon!

SWP Holiday Fashion Show & Luncheon

Fabulous models strut their stuff

Fabulous models strut their stuff

The Society of Wedding Planners held its annual Holiday Luncheon last month at Drexelbrook, and this year we added a bridal fashion show to the mix with our own members, family and friends walking the runway! Fabulous bridal fashions were provided by David’s Bridal, and tuxes for our guys came from Sagets Formalwear. Flowers from Phyllis Jablonowski of Eventricitiy, and pictures compliments of Eli Allen, photographer extraordinaire, of Majestic Images.

Lots of fun, food and bridalwear, including tuxes, so I thought I’d post a few of my favorite pics! Of course, the fact that I’m now serving on the Board of Directors as VP of Education served as the main inspiration for this post! :)
