Tablescape Preview

Last weekend we completed our very first tablescape photo shoot! I’ve had this idea for a while, to provide beautiful, unique tablescapes on the website so clients can hopefully be inspired, and then get an actual taste of what we love to do. I say “we” because it takes more than one person to design and then create an event that’s truly original, inspired and unforgettable; it takes a team of professionals whom I’ve come to work with and trust.

We all set out early Saturday morning, following one of the worst snow storms in history, to capture a few images that will move couples and provide another creative option. I think it was well worth our combined efforts and I’m already planning the next shoot in spring!

We couldn’t have done this without the wonderful talents of Mojibola of Onada Photography, Vic of VU Events, Hilary of Country Meadows Florist, Cindy from Select Event Rentals, of course Stacey and, at the last minute, Anya, my daughter. Special thanks also to Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse who graciously allowed us to shoot in their main dining room in the morning, just before the Valentine’s weekend dinner rush!

Enjoy!

Katie & Jake’s Enchanted Forest

Last month I had the privilege of helping my friend Katie (who absolutely loves “Lord of the Rings”) with her wedding. I didn’t do the regular planning thing, I just handled the florals which had the feel of an enchanted forest. Now a florist I am definitly not, but it was really fun to put woodsy arrangements together using lots of moss, stones, mushrooms and roses. My wonderful florist, Hilary, did the bride’s bouquet, the bridesmaids’ “purses” and the boutonnières, but my team of 3 did everything else. Thank you Stacey and Heidi!

Thank you Arun Paul Photography for these awesome shots! Hopefully I’ll post some more soon!

SWP Holiday Fashion Show & Luncheon

Fabulous models strut their stuff

Fabulous models strut their stuff

The Society of Wedding Planners held its annual Holiday Luncheon last month at Drexelbrook, and this year we added a bridal fashion show to the mix with our own members, family and friends walking the runway! Fabulous bridal fashions were provided by David’s Bridal, and tuxes for our guys came from Sagets Formalwear. Flowers from Phyllis Jablonowski of Eventricitiy, and pictures compliments of Eli Allen, photographer extraordinaire, of Majestic Images.

Lots of fun, food and bridalwear, including tuxes, so I thought I’d post a few of my favorite pics! Of course, the fact that I’m now serving on the Board of Directors as VP of Education served as the main inspiration for this post! :)

Lighting Transforms FUEL

It’s never difficult for me to stress the importance of good lighting in a space! Professional lighting can completely transform a room and make it feel modern, trendy, vintage, traditional, warm or cool. Almost any style you’re going for can be brought to life with professional lighting. And it doesn’t have to be loud and strong - it can be calm, soothing and quiet.

Here, a Carribean/Latin influenced wedding reception used lighting to transform FUEL House (one of my favorite venues) into an energetic, vibrant space. Guests enjoyed a fabulous cocktail reception by Fleur de Lys Catering, a live jazz/salsa band, DJ and salsa dancers from Flaco’s Dance Factory. The decor itself was quite simple in all white, and the floral arrangements and crystal structure from Beautiful Blooms completed the look. Carefully designed lighting created an exciting atmosphere and changed gradually from amber to pink, blue, purple and red throughout the evening. Along with moving starlight on the ceiling and chandelier, the mood was festive and fun for everyone!

Whimsical Cake Toppers

Ok, so one of my brides just turned me on to these whimsical cake toppers I absolutely love! They’re from Lollipop Workshop on Etsy, one of my favorite places for accessories and hand-made everything on the web. I had to share it because I’m all about telling your personal story as a couple, and what could be more “original, inspired and unforgettable”, not to mention fun for your cake!!

Nicole & Roosevelt at The Four Seasons

I realize my blogging is behind schedule, nonetheless I’m excited to share these photos, compliments of Edmund Moon, Daily Thousand Words Photography, from the wedding last Saturday at The Four Seasons. Nicole and Roosevelt were especially great to work with and I’ll honestly miss the warm conversations with the bride now that the wedding has taken place! It was an absolute pleasure working with Elizabeth Knox at the hotel, and Marie from Flower Sculpture created floral arrangements that were exactly what the couple envisioned!

Enjoy!

Original Water Theme

Last Saturday I had the privilege of working with a wonderful couple, Shalon and Harry, who wanted a unique water theme for their wedding at Spring Mill Manor. They love tropical aquariums so we started out with a mandarin fish (Harry loves them) as inspiration. All else fell into place from there - vibrant colors, submerged orchids with black sea fans, a “pond” escort card table, and the main focal point of the room, an amazing, new “Aquascreen” with their gobo sparkling on the falling water droplets and the black fabric background. It was truly spectacular!

Special thanks to Vic and Darlene for bringing this unforgettable vision to life!

Here are a few shots we took of the decor. I can’t wait to see the professional photos from Beth, but these will have to do for now!

Nicole & Roosevelt

So some of my “most favoritest” clients, Nicole and Roosevelt, had an engagement shoot recently. When she sent me the link I was blown away and just knew I had to share them! The images were captured by Bola, of Onada Photography, whose work is so beautiful and fresh - I know it’s just a matter of time before she “takes the city by storm”, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to work with her in the future!

All the best to beautiful Nicole and her honey, Roosevelt!

(It was very hard choosing so few photos to post!)

Nickie & Mark at Sweetwater Farm

Here are a few detail shots from Nickie and Mark’s tent wedding at Sweetwater Farm Bed and Breakfast in Glen Mills. It’s absolutely beautiful there, and it’s the perfect venue for a romantic ceremony and intimate reception. The immediate family stayed at the farm for an entire weekend of celebrating!

I need to add that these photos were taken by my brother-in-law. Anil, just so I could blog about them. :) Professional pics will be posted on the website shortly!

Real Wedding Sneak Peek!

On May 2nd I had the privilege of working with a wonderful couple, Qualisha and Terris, who had a fabulous reception at F.U.E.L. Here are a couple photos taken in Rittenhouse Square before the ceremony by my good friend John Rozier. The detail shots are by another great friend, Arun Paul. More to come!
